In Senkvice fastest Slovenian Klemen Gercar

After last race in Slovenia all teams and staff moved to another closer state – Slovakia. The MX3 FIM World Motocross Championship took place in little village Senkvice. Organisers are skilled with preparing world MX rounds and everybody was ready to make a nice racing weekend in western part of Slovakia. In MX3 category is still Matthias Walkner red plate owner. He would like to keep it after this round too. But many riders are attacking his position. One of them is Klemen Gercar. He took victory in last round and also today in Qualifying in Slovakia.

The weather was not friendly. Sky without clouds, tropical temperatures, hard surface on a track made today´s races more interesting. UFO Racing Team rider Klemen Gercar is on winning stroke and he would like to continue in it. His team pushed him hard and supported him to good results. Finally Klemen proved his qualities and he made the best time of a day.

Klemen Gercar: „I am happy with today´s result. The track was quite flat, so the lap times were close to each other. I hope that organiser put a lot of water on a track for tommorow, because it is really hot and dusty here in Senkvice.“

We used to that Slovenian riders are very fast this year. This rule demonstrated result of second rider here in Senkvice. Matevz Irt was riding close to Klemen´s times, but he was worst in 0,3 secs. Matevz Irt achieved second best time of Saturday.

Last year was very close to win Czech rider Martin Michek. Martin´s goal is to win as many rounds as is possible, so he started to ride for the best time in Senkvice. During the racing in Qualifying Group A together with Klemen Gercar, Martin did third best time among all riders. Gap between him and Klemen was only 0,4 secs.

Batista Levy, rider from France, did not participate in many MX3 rounds of this 2012 season. However in Senkvice showed to everybody his technique and speed, when his time was very close to top three. Batista´s time was enough for fourth position, but what we can expect from him tommorow...

Very close to Batista was another Czech rider Marek Sukup. In Qualifying Group A he obtained third position, but in overall lap times  he made fifth position only 0,006 secs behind Batista. Marek Sukup is next rider, who wanted to reach podium tommorow. 

Finnish Antti Pyrhonen was riding in Senkvice nearly to top five riders in qualifying. Antti was trying to catch podium positions all this season. In overall championship standings he is at fourth place after round in Slovenia and he´d like to move up in standings. He noticed sixth best lap time in qualifying. One of the top Austrian riders Gunter Schmidinger made time, which sufficed for seventh place.

Red plate owner Matthias Walkner get used to his not good qualifying lap times. For today he set lap time for eighth place. Tomas Simko and Martin Kohut  were closing top ten riders of today´s qualifying.

Martin Kohut: „I am not satisfied with today´s qualification, but I wasn´t riding on my top. I still have a knee injury and I have to be careful. In this race is too hot and due to this is track very dusty and flat, which I do not like most.“
