The third Grand Prix of the Supermoto Season took place today at Sosnovà Circuit where the sun welcomed the riders until the start of the first S1 race; then just some clouds arrived but, at the end, the sun came back, so the track conditions were perfect and the great crowd present saw Mauno Hermunen and Mitchell Thomas Malachi won both heats respectively in their classes.
S1
TM Shr Mauno Hermunen had a very good start and got the hole shot in both heats, in race one Thomas Chareyre overtook him but the French Champion managed to keep the leading only for a little time; the Finnish arrived stronger from behind, easily catching Thomas and rode with a great authority until the second chequered flag, winning another time both heats out off and the Czech Republic Grand Prix. This is the third victory in a row for Mauno and it is also the third time he wins two heats on two, so now, with his 150 comfortable points, he is the protagonist of this 2013 season and he feels the 2013 Supermoto World Title closer than ever.
TM Racing Factory Team Thomas Chareyre had a good start; in the first race, during the second lap, he reached Hermunen in the off road part and overtook him, able to maintain the lead for some laps but Mauno catched him and he had to settle down for a second place for the rest of all the race and also in race two where, when he tried to overtake the strong Finnish rider, one stone hurt his wrist and he finished on the second step on the podium.
First podium of the season for HM L30 Racing Ivan Lazzarini who feels very good on this Czech circuit, also because here is where he has always obtained a very good result. The Italian Champion in the first race did not have a very good start but, after some laps, he overtook Petr Vorlicek finishing fourth; in race two he had a consistent race, finishing third and got the third step on the rostrum.
The fourth overall position was for HONDA Luc1 Owatrol Sylvan Bydart, who admitted that after the not so good yesterday qualifying, it was difficult for him to have a good start today but he feels happy with his improvement from yesterday; in race one he overtook Thierry Van Den Bosch after five laps, finishing sixth and, in race two, he found a good rhythm, overtaking Petr Vorlicek and finishing fifth.
APRILIA Fast Wheels Adrien Chareyre had a consistent race, finishing third in the first heat, just after the strong Hermunen and after his brother; in the first laps he tried to do his best to close the gap between the two TM riders but, unfortunately, in race two he crashed alone, losing some positions.
Home rider TM Shr Petr Vorlicek was very satisfied to obtain his best results in front his Czech crowd, followed by HONDA HM Racing Christian Ravaglia and by the other Italian SUZUKI Brt Andrea Occhini; the other home rider TM Hardbike Racing Tomas Travnicek was happy to improve his position in his country soil; in fact he did his best but, in the second race, he felt tired and lost some positions, followed by the Slovenian HONDA Tds Uros Nastran, who closed the top ten.
