Gubian back in the pack

Much to the delight of the many French fans who are sure to pack the Palais des Sports de Marseille later tonight, Loris Gubian – Gas Gas will make a welcomed return to the FIM X-Trial World Championship as a wildcard entrant after having missed out on a fixed place in this year’s series.

The twenty-six-year-old who originates from La Croix Rousse, France endured a torrid 2014 season with him forced to miss some events as he changed machinery midway through the year. Loris’ best result during the 2014 FIM X-Trial World Championship came at the final round in Oviedo, Spain where he netted a morale boosting fifth spot and only just missed out on booking a place in the four man final.

Come the close of the 2014 indoor campaign Gubian finished behind Japan’s Takahisa Fujinami – Repsol Honda in seventh position overall. This along with a disappointing showing outdoors, where he was ranked eighteenth overall due to the many problems he suffered, unfortunately did not earn automatic qualification for the 2015 FIM X-Trial World Championship.

With wildcard rides in Marseille and at the next round in Pau, France next Friday the talented young French rider now has his chance to re-establish himself amongst the elite group of fixed riders.
