Girl power

A total of thirty-seven girls from eleven nations will today contest the final round of the 2015 FIM Women’s Trial World Championship in L'Hospitalet de l’Infant, Spain. Representing France, Denmark, Ireland, Australia, USA, Italy, Great Britain, Spain, Norway, Germany and Estonia the near forty strong female protagonists will tackle two laps of fifteen sections at the sea-fronted venue. The opening two hazards are actually situated on the beach, with the remaining hazards being found slightly inland within a dry riverbed.

This morning the girls gathered just prior to the start of today’s closing competition to celebrate the occasion with an official photo shoot against the backdrop of the wonderful coastline that defines this Spanish holiday destination. Newly crowned 2015 FIM Women’s Trial World Champion Emma Bristow – Sherco heads the entry and has the luxury of being able to ride the final counting day safe in the knowledge that the title is already hers. Behind Bristow the picture is far less clear with all the other positions in the championship very much up for grabs.

With a total of five hours and twenty-five minutes to complete the Trial, the final rider is due to finish around three thirty this afternoon, by which time all the final 2015 rankings will have been decided.
