  • Exciting Final Special Test brings four-day race in Poland to a close

After three enjoyable days of racing in this year’s FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy (EVT) in Piekoszów, Poland, the fourth and final day of competition saw the ninth edition of the event draw to a close with the traditional Final Special Test.

Debut Vintage Veteran Trophy win for Germany

Entering the Final Special Test with a sizeable five-minute lead in the Vintage Veteran Trophy category over closest rivals France, Germany were determined to make no mistakes and claim their debut victoryin the category.

Opting to fight to the finish, France pushed as hard as they could to close the gap to Germany. The French nation were rewarded by winning the Final Special Test, but were unable to beat Germany for the top step of the podium.

Putting in a careful ride for the Day Four runner-up result, Germany’s trio of Bert von Zitzewitz, Johannes Steinel and Uwe Weber were able to win the Vintage Veteran Trophy class by four minutes and fifty-one seconds.

Giving their home crowd plenty to cheer for, Poland posted the third-fastest time on Day Four to end the event on the final podium in third overall. Switzerland held off the fast-charging Netherlands to take fourth. Despite placing over three minutes quicker today than Switzerland, the Netherlands had to settle for fifth.

The most important thing was to ensure the victory today,” told an elated Bert von Zitzewitz regarding Germany’s win. “We’ve been second multiple times in this race, so to finally take the top step of the podium is fantastic.

“The whole week was hard, with long, physical special tests and lots of Enduro riding in the forest. I enjoyed it a lot and didn’t have any issues with my bike despite not racing it since the FIM EVT in Spain in 2023.”

Pantera 1 win Vintage Silver Vase competition

In the decider for the Vintage Silver Vase competition, it all came down to the Final Special Testbetween Pantera 1 and Moto Club Team Italia. Pantera 1 held a five-second advantage over their rivals, and by setting the fastest Vintage Silver Vase time for the day, they managed to claim the win by just under seven seconds.

Despite providing the closest challenge to Pantera 1 throughout the entire event, they were unable to get the better of their fellow Italian countrymen and had to settle for second.

MC Bergamo MX Line Team and Moto Club Scuderia Norelli ended their event in third and fourth, respectively, ensuring an Italian lockout of the top four positions. Team Kramer beat France Enduro Vintage by forty-five seconds to complete the top five.
