Kattia Juárez Dubón, Director, FIM International Sustainability Commission stated: “As one of the most influential federations in motorcycling sport and industry, the FMI (Italian Federation) is dedicated to driving meaningful change and fostering collaborations that enhance environmental responsibility. I'm pleased to join this distinguished panel of experts from the plastics industry who are leading the way in sustainable solutions. This discussion is an invaluable opportunity to share the FIM’s experience and commitment to reducing plastic pollution, while also supporting research into innovative, sustainable materials that will shape the future of our sport and beyond. With this dedicated panel aligned with the theme of World Environment Day, we celebrate in advance this important date.”
Giovanni Copioli – President, Italian Motorcycle Federation (FMI) added: “For years, our FMI Environmental Commission has been working to raise awareness amongst all the federation’s internal and external stakeholders regarding sustainability and environmental protection. This is why we believe it's essential to highlight the importance of all our operations aimed at respecting the land. Amongst these, our activities for offsetting CO2 emissions during national events and monitoring soil and air quality are stand out examples. World Environment Day and the FIM Sustainability Week are opportunities to remind the public of these crucial topics. I'm convinced that motorcycling, like all sports, must focus on sustainability to have a future and become a conveyor of moral and social values. We must respect these values and transform them into concrete actions. For example, the CIV is a zero-impact competition, and one of the main objectives of the 2024 FIM Rally was environmental respect.”
