Five official machines are aiming for victory

The warm up of the 8 Hours of Albacete, second round of the Qtel FIM Endurance World Championship, has confirmed that five official machines from four manufacturers will be engaged in a highly disputed battle for victory. As a testimony showing that fourth place on the starting grid will not deprive them from any inch of motivation, the Yamaha Racing France GMT 94 Ipone signed the best lap in 1’31.741, very close from their best qualifying time. BMW Motorrad France 99 used that last testing session to solve their rear wheel axle problem and the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team to validate their race settings. After a few laps on the track, the Monster Yamaha YART spent the time mainly in the pits, to prepare the spare bike for the race. The first machine has been destroyed, as Gwen Giabbani was involved in a collision with another rider this morning during the second qualifying session. Discrete but highly motivated, the team Honda TT Legends is keeping the pace with the leaders, from which Kawasaki is missing. Their best contender remains the Bolliger Team Switzerland. This private team had some trouble finding the proper chassis setup and will start the race from the fourteenth place. As they managed to find some good compromise, we’ll definitively have to count them in for the race. This warm was interrupted for a while. After the consequence-free crash of one of the Superstock leaders, the Suzuki AM Moto Racing Compétition, some water was spilled on the track.
