The FIM women and Track racing commissions are delighted to announce the launch of the first Women's Speedway Academy - 15th and 16th July in Diedenbergen (GER).
The FIM women commission recently wrote a strong line on the motorycling history by starting the Arabic women in motorcycling campaign and will now be a major actor of the first speedway academy with 100% female riders.
The FIM track racing commission is also into specific projects related to youth, safety programs and future in track racing. The launching of Women's Speedway Academy is a new step in the track racing world, even if the commission already started to nominate female members, jury presidents and referees 10 years ago.
Thanks to the collaboration with DMSB, DMV, DMSJ and MSC Diedenbergen, worldwide 500cc speedway female riders from 16 years old will be able to attend a 2-days program with sport, mental and communication lessons as well as practice on track. Participants will be able to get advices from actual and former speedway riders, team coaches and technical experts. MSC Diedenbergen will propose many activities aside such as sim-racing.
The opening of the 2022 FIM Flat Track world championship will take place in Diedenbergen the same weekend. 2 female riders will enter the championship : Yasmin Poppenreiter from Austria as a full season participant and Micaela Bazas from Argentina who will enter the 3 last rounds of the championship as FIM Wild card with the support of Mariuxi Taranto from El Salvador, 2021 FIM Flat Track world championship rider.
The FIM, DMSB, DMV, DMSJ and MSC Diedenbergen would like to welcome everyone to this weekend and share volunteer or working experiences with whoever would like to become a volunteer or a rider in motorcycling.
