The annual FIM Sustainability Week made history this year with the first-ever FIM Sustainability Report presented on the opening day of six days of events dedicated to raising awareness and promoting action in line with the FIM’s sustainability objectives.
Chosen to coincide with World Environment Day, Monday’s agenda focussed on the inaugural and ground-breaking FIM Sustainability Report and also highlighted the work of the FIM Women in Motorcycling Commission (CFM) which since 2006 has worked to break down gender-based bias to make motorcycling completely inclusive.
Over the following five days, the global FIM Family came together online and in person as initiatives ranging from the work of the Keep it Shiny and Sustainable (KiSS) and Ride Green programmes were showcased along with discussions on subjects including biodiversity, offsetting CO2 emissions and achieving the FIM’s long-term sustainability goals among other topics.
The week’s programme was punctuated with diverse activities that included live music, yoga and a charity auction along with the launch of ‘Thirty Years of Riding Green’ that details the FIM’s ongoing mission to reconcile motorcycle sport and the environment.
