FIM Sidecar: Oschersleben, race 2

Well what a difference a day makes, the sun was out in Oschersleben for the 21 lap main race.

Tim Reeves and Mark Wilkes did not start; they thought it best due to the injury to Tim’s leg.  Also the teams involved in yesterday crash, these involved were battered and bruised, and a few broken bones.  We wish them all a speedy recovery.

Team Kershaw will be leaving Oschersleben very happy, two race wins over the weekend.  It was a faultless weekend for them, and now they are getting ready for the last round in Portugal in a couple of weeks.

Not what they wanted, but two second places over the weekend certainly boosted their championship points tally.  Todd Ellis and Emmanuelle Clement despite having a virus fought all the way but they did not have any answer for the pace Kershaw and Charlwood had this weekend.

Ben and Tom Birchall fought hard today, Tom dug deep and the team were rewarded with a third place.

The racing was not as close as it has been the last few rounds but still the lap times are fast.

Harry Payne and Kevin Rousseau took another fourth place today; Payne was caught out by the speed the lights went out though.  He did not just have the bike in gear.  But the team fought hard and a good fourth was the reward.

Sam and Tom Christie took fifth place, they were up in the leading group but they ran over a bollard which damaged their machine, Sam and Tom did not know what it was but there was a scraping noise from their machine which distracted them from their race, they were concerned that something was going to fall off their machine, but in the end they finished, and they were happy for this.

Bennie Streuer and Kevin Kolsch got a sixth place, not what the team wanted, but sixth is better than nothing at all; they have had a torrid season up to now.
The last round will be in Estoril, Portugal.

Two races there for the championship in a couple of week’s time.
