FIM Sidecar - Le Mans April opener cancelled

The FIM, RKB-F1 Motorsport and Santander Salt regret to announce the cancellation of the opening round of the 2021 FIM Sidecar World Championship, which was initially scheduled to take place alongside the 24 Heures Motos in France.

As a result of the impact of the ongoing Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic in the region, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, the Préfecture de la Sarthe, the FIM, the Fédération Française de Motocyclisme (FFM) and all the stakeholders have yesterday taken the decision to cancel the event originally set to take place on 17-18 April at the Bugatti Circuit.

With the hospitals being under considerable strain, health resources in Le Mans and the surrounding area are not in a position to provide the service required to ensure the safety of riders and teams during the races.

The management team of RKB-F1 Motorsport and Santander Salt would like to extend sincere thanks to the FIM, circuit organisers and all other involved parties for continuing their tireless efforts in making the 2021 season possible.

More information regarding the 2021 revised calendar will be announced soon.
