FIM Quardcross/Sidecarcross descends on Karksi Nuia for round six

This weekend will be the sixth round of the world championship, and the final weekend of Quadcross racing before the summer break. Karksi Nuia is a circuit that not many of the world championship competitors will be familiar with, however, there has been significant effort and preparation put into place for the world championship.

Karl Robin Rillo and Kevin Saar will have the home advantage this weekend and the local crowd will undoubtedly give them their full support. Kevin Saar turned his fortunes around last weekend in Gdansk to take 16 points away from Turrini over qualifying and both races, reducing the Italian’s lead to 29 points. It was his first overall podium since the opening round at Castelnau de Levis in April, and it will have inspired his confidence as he returns to home soil. Rillo showed he had the speed to run with the leaders in Gdansk, and you can bet that he will be in the hunt this weekend.

With his championship lead being reduced, Turrini will be aiming to keep ahead of Saar to rebuild the lead once again, but it could be a tall order as he’ll be going against his rival in his own backyard. Prior to this weekend, the most recent time that we had a round in Estonia was 2023 at Lange in the European championship. On that occasion, Saar and Rillo took the top two spots overall ahead of Turrini, but it was the Italian who would go on to win the title. Could history repeat itself in this inaugural world championship season?

A man who needs a good weekend this weekend is Harry Walker, who trails Kevin Saar by 25 points. His DNF in race one in Poland was his first in three years, so this weekend could be pivotal and set the template for the remainder of the season.

It will be very interesting to see what happens this weekend. It isn’t just the on-track racing that will play a part in the story of 2026, but it’s the under-current of tension and mental fortitude that will also play a key role. A good weekend here will result in a relatively stress-free summer break, before all focus is put directly onto the final rounds.

Alongside the Quadcrossprogramme will be the FIM Sidecarcross World Championship who are approaching the halfway point in their season, and the title fight could not be closer.

Livequalifying and GP races will be shown as they happen on www.fim-moto.tv, and you can keep up with all of the lastest news on www.fimquadcross.com, as well as our social media outlets.
