FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy launches with opening ceremony in Poland

Excitement surrounding the FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy builds as the opening ceremony officially welcomes the race in Piekoszów, Poland.

The quiet town of Piekoszów is now bustling with Enduro machinery steeped in nostalgia, as riders and fans of this much-loved classic Enduro celebrate the commencement of its ninth edition.

Starting as defending champions, Italy arrive in Poland hoping to secure their fourth consecutive victory in the Vintage Veteran Trophy competition, with an unchanged line-up of Enrico Tortoli, Gorgio Grasso and Tullio Pellegrinelli.

Yes, it’s a joy to return to the FIM EVT with the same team of riders and bikes as we had last year in Italy,” tells Tullio Pellegrinelli.

For sure, we want to win but we know that might not happen. Another team could be really strong, or we could have problems with our bikes.

Competing on the same motorcycle that helped him to victory in 2024, Pellegrinelli will race his PUCH 347. A bike he knows extremely well, he is well aware of the pitfalls he may face during this year’s FIM EVT.

“I feel the sandy terrain will be a challenge,” says Pellegrinelli. “Riding in sand demands more from the engine, so we must be careful to manage that during the race.

These motorcycles are delicate. Even if you have everything prepared perfectly, it’s always possible to have a problem simply because they are so old.

Now sixty-one, he says he is also now feeling his age. However, these are easily outweighed by his passion for vintage Enduro and competitive spirit.

I don’t know if it will be my last year – I am getting older now and there are many great Italian riders of the past who also deserve a place on the team – but for now, I’ll enjoy this moment with my teammates,” smiles Pellegrinelli.

The ninth edition of the FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy takes place in Piekoszów, Poland from 6-9 August.PRE-ENTRY LIST HEREFor event information and live results stay tuned to ktmnovi.com as well as to the event’s official Instagram account @fim_enduro_vintage for daily event coverage.
