The FIM Europe Congress continued today in Zagreb, Croatia with the FIM management strongly present at the event. Friday´s programme included a Management Council Meeting, Commissions´ meetings and Panels as well as General Secretaries Meeting. At the Road Safety and Mobility Conference it was discussed how to improve the safety of the riders and how to focus on the risk awareness. The conference highlighted how training programmes should combine traditional approaches to motorcycle safety.
The FIM also invited all the European Federations to share their ideas and concerns in the joint meeting where the new FMN/CONU Liaison department was introduced to the federations. The FIM aims to strengthen the collaboration and communication with all its 111 national federations. During this meeting, that was opened by the FIM president Jorge Viegas, the topics such as riders´ insurances and licences as well as the other possibilities the FIM Academy will provide were discussed. The new E-Bike (electric bicycles) scene was a topic that federations were very interested in. Already six European Federations that were present at the meeting are active in the E-Bike activities and two E-Bike competitions have been organised in France and in Belgium this summer. The feedback from the federations present in Zagreb was positive for this kind of transparent atmosphere.

"Today we took a big step into the concrete and open collaboration with our national federations. We are happy with the open discussion we had and this is something we need to continue also in the future. We envisage to repeat these meetings between National Federations every year, with a special open mind. Only by sharing experiences development is possible. The FIM will always have the doors open for every National Federation and will make its best efforts to solve all problems that may arise."
