Xavi Artigas, Izan Guevara and José Julián García win in Moto3. David Alonso, Marco Morelli and Zonta Van Den Goorbergh triumph in the European Talent Cup, and Yari Montella claims victory in both Moto2 races.
Xavi Artigas, Izan Guevara and José Julián García were the winners in the three FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship races held this weekend at Jerez. Artigas remains leader of the series, despite finishing 8th in Race 2. Izan Guevara took his first Moto3 win, and finished second in Race 2, losing a position for exceeding the track limits on the last corner. Sic58 Squadra Corse rider José Julián García took victory on that occasion.
The Moto2 European Championship was the only class to run two races this weekend . Both were won by Yari Montella, who pulls away at the top of the overall standings with a perfect record of 6 podiums. Niki Tuuli took second place in both races, while Alessandro Zaccone completed the podium in Race 1. Alejandro Medina was on the rostrum for the first time this season, in Race 2.
There were a variety of winners in the three European Talent Cup. David Alonso extends his advantage after winning Race 1 on Saturday and placing second in the other two contests. Marco Morelli won the second race, while in the third it was Zonta Van Den Goorberg who crossed the line ahead of his rivals.
Artigas leads the FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship with a 21 point advantage over Pedro Acosta. Montella is the Moto2 European Championship leader by 34 points over Niki Tuuli. David Alonso heads the European Talent Cup, 52 points ahead of Alberto Ferrández.
The fourth round of the FIM CEV Repsol will take place at MotorLand Aragón on October 3-4th, with three races for each class.
