On Saturday, Mr. Jorge Viegas was elected as FIM President in Andorra la Vella, the FIM Board met Sunday morning in order to discuss new governance positions. Mr. Viegas will hereby take up the role of acting CEO until the FIM Commissions Conference in February 2019 in Geneva, Switzerland. Mr. Jacques Bolle has been nominated to the position of FIM Vice-President. Mr. Robert Dingam has been named as representative of Continental Unions (CONU). The Board of Committees will be chaired as follows: Affiliations: Mr. Stephan Carapiet, FIM Asia President Awards & Recognition: Mr. Giovanni Copioli, Board Member Finance: Mr. Robert Dingam, FIM North America President Governance: Mr. Jacques Bolle, Vice-President Human Resources: Mr. Jorge Viegas, President Strategic Plan: Mr. Jorgen Bitsch, Board Member New Commission Directors were appointed; Mrs. Katia Juarez for the Sustainability Commission (CID) and Mr. Jesper Christensen for the Public Affairs Commission (CAP). A task force, chaired by Mr. Per Westling Secretary General (SG) of the Swedish Federation and composed of several national Federations SGs, was created to report on urgent concerns of national federations (FMN) and continental unions (CONU). Mr. Jorge Viegas, for his first trip as President, will assist to the Dakar departure in Lima, Peru, beginning of January. "We took very important and courageous decisions in our first Board of Directors. We are going in the right direction, putting the National Federations, the Continental Unions and the Commissions in the center of the decisions. I want also to congratulate the new elected members: Mr. Jan Stovicek, Mr. Jacques Bolle and Mr. Giovanni Copioli!"
