FIM and SportPlus extend their partnership

The FIM and Sport Plus are pleased to announce the extension of their contract for the promotion of the FIM FreeStyle Motocross World Championship until 2021.

The first agreement between the FIM and SportPlus was signed in 2006 with the launch of the FIM FreeStyle World Championship. NIGHT of the JUMPS has since become the official FIM World Championship in the discipline. The FIM and SportPlus (known as IFMXF until 2010) have now agreed to extend their successful partnership for another 5 years from 2016. After this announcement, FIM CEO

Ignacio Verneda expressed his satisfaction: “The FIM is pleased to extend its agreement with SportPlus, as they are a serious and loyal partner. Together with their devoted team, they are making their best efforts to develop the discipline worldwide while showing respect for our officials, National Federations and Continental Unions.”

Marko Manthey (CEO SportPlus) added: “It is a great honour to receive the trust of the FIM Board to extend our partnership to 2021 pre-term. Since the launch of the partnership, the FIM has given us the chance to be a partner at eye level, so to speak. Now that we have extended the agreement, we look forward to working on the further globalisation of the FIM Freestyle MX World Championship together with the FIM and its affiliated Federations.
