Di Meglio displays talent

Mike di Meglio shrugged off his one-trick-pony tag to claim the 125cc title at a canter in 2008.

Viewed as something of a wet-weather specialist after claiming his only previous victory in the class in the wet in Turkey in 2005, Di Meglio did little to debunk that myth by powering to his first win of 2008 in the rain at his home race at Le Mans.

That victory, which came following a frantic five-lap sprint to the flag after the race had been split into two parts due to the poor weather, gave the Ajo Motorsport rider the lead of the series from Simone Corsi, who had won earlier rounds in Spain and Portugal, although had lacked consistency at other events.
