Day 2 – Redondi leads for Italy

Without question one of the biggest surprise results from day one of the 91st edition of the FIM International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) in Navarra, Spain was the performance of 2016 FIM Enduro Junior World Champion Giacomo Redondi – Honda.

Competing as a member of Italy’s World Trophy Team the Honda rider placed just over six seconds ahead of USA’s Kailub Russell at the end of the first day’s competition, a result that even Giacomo was surprised with, as he explained: “Day one went really well for me, better than I expected,” confirmed the Italian. “I wasn’t thinking about winning, so it was a big surprise to be the fastest overall rider. But a nice surprise.”

“Today’s new start order should make things better for me because yesterday I was catching riders and getting caught in their dust, but I think all riders had the same problem. The terrain is slippery in places, but I really liked the enduro test. It’s going to be a rough day today, I hope I can keep near the front of the overall results again and do my best for Italy.”
