Curtain falls on 2015 Trial season

Yesterday saw the close of the 2015 Trial season with the FIM Trial des Nations held in L'Hospitalet de l’Infant, Spain bringing the curtain down on a tour that began back in early January with the opening round of the FIM X-Trial World Championship in Sheffield, Great Britain. That particular series was contested over six rounds and a three month period at the end of which Toni Bou – Repsol Honda took the title for an incredible ninth year in a row.

Late April saw the action shift outdoors with the amazing venue at Motegi, Japan hosting the opening encounter of the 2015 FIM Trial World Championship. Bou again had to fight off the attentions of his old adversary Adam Raga in order to claim his second crown of the year by the time this championship ended in Teo, Spain come mid September after a tour that had taken in nine countries including Asia and America along with the normal European destinations.

The 2015 FIM Women’s Trial World Championship was contested over three rounds and five counting days as it again piggybacked the men’s series bringing some additional colour and glamour to the normally male dominated paddock. Britain’s Emma Bristow – Sherco was crowned the Queen of Trial for the second year in a row as British riders packed the top three places in the final rankings.

This weekend just gone saw both the FIM Women’s Trial des Nations and the FIM Trial des Nations play out in Spain, with Great Britain’s girls winning the ladies event, the Czech Republic secure victory in the International Trophy and the host country taking the male title for the twelfth year in a row to close out the 2015 Trial season.
