Corser impressed by BMW

Former champion Troy Corser believes the progress shown by new team BMW has been impressive so far in the FIM World Superbike Championship season.

Corser and team-mate Ruben Xaus are busy developing the S1000RR against more established superbike manufacturers such as Ducati and the Japanese companies.

But that has not stopped the Australian being impressed with how things have gone so far, particularly after two top 10 finishes in the last round at Losail in Qatar.

Corser said: "At the moment, we are about half a second down on bike and chassis set-up and if we could cut that gap we'd be competitive for sure."

Corser added on his results in Qatar, where he finished ninth in each race: "To get two top 10s was certainly more than I was expecting before the season started and shows that the bike has real potential."
