Conde in podium contention

Spain’s Mireia Conde – Beta competes in today’s final counting event of the 2016 FIM Women’s Trial World Championship with a real chance of claiming her place on the overall series podium come the close of play. Conde along with her other female rivals will face three laps of ten sections in the French ski resort of Isola 2000 today to decide the final rankings.

Mireia first joined the series back in 2008 and to date the highest ranking the now twenty-four-year-old has achieved is fourth back in 2014. Conde currently sits fifth in the general standings after the opening two rounds in Great Britain and Italy. However just three points separates Mireia from her younger compatriot Berta Abellan – Beta who holds third spot in the series at the moment with Britain’s Rebekah Cook – TRS sandwiched between the two of them.

Third place on the second day of the Italian GP last weekend marked Conde’s equal best result, the last and only other time she was on the rostrum was at her home round back in 2014. Hence Mireia will go into today’s all important final encounter packed with confidence after her performance last Sunday and with a real chance of earning herself a medal come this afternoon.
