Comblain-au-Pont - The second coming

Today, for the second time in its history the small Belgium town of Comblain-au-Pont will host a round of the FIM Trial World Championship, the previous occasion being in 2014. With a normal population of around six thousand people, the local area is sure to feel a swell in numbers as the Belgium Trial fans will once again be out in force to witness the World’s best riders in action. Situated just over one hundred kilometres south east of the city of Brussels, the rural venue is easily reachable.

Looking to follow a similar format to when the competition was held in the region two years ago the action will get underway with the initial section being close to the start area in the centre of the town. The riders will then make the short transition to hazards two, three, four and five which are all in close proximity to each other under the cover of trees. The journey to the next three sections six, seven and eight is slightly longer with slippery conditions again prevailing, before the competitors then take in the ninth and tenth hazards which are in separate locations, the latter being in the neighbouring town of Poulseur.

The concluding drama on each of the three laps will take place back close to the town square, with sections eleven and twelve expected to draw large crowds as they did back in 2014. So the stage is set for the second coming of the series to Comblain-au-Pont.
