Heading into the fifth round of the 2016 FIM Trial World Championship, which kicks off in Lourdes, France tomorrow Jorge Casales – Beta currently sits eighth in the general standings after a mixed start to this year’s campaign. To date this season Casales’ best result came on the opening day of the championship at his home GP in Spain, but since his initial sixth place Jorge has failed to find the same kind of form.
The long trip to Japan for round two proved to be a big disappointment with Casales only picking up a single point for his efforts. The next round in Germany brought slightly better results with Jorge placing twelfth and tenth over the two days of competition. Last time out in Andorra the factory Beta rider again showed some further green shoots of recovering his real form as he secured eighth and ninth places over the weekend.
Having missed most of the first half of last season due to a foot injury sustained at the opening GP in Japan, Casales made a strong return during the closing rounds including a career best third place on the first day in the USA. Furthermore, Casales rounded out 2015 with two top five results at the final round in his home country.
Knowing what he is really capable of, Jorge will hope to continue his return to form at the French GP this weekend.
