Today will present Britain’s Jack Price – Gas Gas with the first opportunity to seal the Trial2 title as he has the amazing opportunity to become the outright winner of the 2016 FIM Trial2 World Cup in front of his home fans. Nineteen-year-old Price from Huddersfield has announced himself as the dominant force in this class with six day victories to date this season after finishing seventh in the overall rankings last year. The best thirteen counting days are used to determine the eventual title winner, with riders in the Trial2 class dropping their worst two scores.
Taking this into account Jack currently heads his nearest rival and compatriot Iwan Roberts – Beta by forty-one points in the general standings ahead of the two-day British Trial GP. Price can put the title beyond doubt today subject to him maintaining or increasing his advantage at the top of the table. In a class that saw four different winners over the opening four days of the series, Price signalled his intent by becoming the first rider to repeat his victory with important back-to-back triumphs in Germany. Since then the teenager from Yorkshire and not so far away from the venue at Tong has also tasted the winner’s champagne in Andorra, France and last weekend at the Belgium Trial GP to put himself in a commanding position ahead of today’s event.
All things being equal in the Kingdom, Jack may just be crowned King Price on home soil later today.
