The Trial, Technical and Medical Commissions of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) are currently focusing on implementing the use of back and chest protectors in Trial and X-Trial disciplines.
In order to prepare the FIM riders for this new requirement, we would like to organise a meeting where the product manufacturers can meet the FIM together with the Trial/X-Trial riders' representatives. This event would have the following objectives:
- for the riders, to express their needs and opinions concerning body protection;
- for the manufacturers, to present and show their current products, as well as indicate how the market could possibly develop in order to address the Trial/X-Trial riders' needs;
- for the FIM, moderate the discussion and start a cooperative dialogue for the future, in order to reach a common understanding and act in unison as far as possible, while preserving safety goals.
Our Trial and X-Trial section inspectors will also be present as their experience is crucial for all discussions related to the type of obstacles the riders have to negotiate.
> The meeting will take place at the FIM HQ on May 2 at 13:30, preceded by a lunch at 12:30 hosted by the FIM at its HQ too.
> We invite interested manufacturers to send their expression of interest no later than April 18 EOB by email to frhp@fim.ch. The FIM will consider and reply to all expressions of interest received.
