After four rounds of the 2015 FIM Trial World Championship Albert Cabestany – Sherco sits fourth in the general standings as he continues to fight to stay in contention with the leading trio of Toni Bou – Repsol Honda, Adam Raga – Gas Gas and Jeroni Fajardo – Beta who all currently and respectively head him in the points table. Third overall last season the soon to be thirty-five-year-old has only made it on to the podium three times so far this season.
Two fifth places at the opening Grand Prix in Japan was not the perfect start to the 2015 campaign for the Sherco factory rider, however a third spot on the first day in the Czech Republic will have momentarily restored Albert’s confidence before he then slumped to sixth position the very next day. It was a similar story in Sweden as Cabestany went 5 – 3 over the two days of competition.
Last weekend’s British Trial GP provided Albert with his best results to date this year as he placed third on Saturday and fourth on Sunday to hold his fourth position in the championship. With Takahisa Fujinami – Repsol Honda only three points behind him in the title race and Fajardo having stretched his advantage to thirteen points ahead of him, Cabestany will know that he will need to improve on his performances to date over the coming rounds if he is to at least equal the top three ranking that he achieved last year.
