Reigning British Superbike champion Shane Byrne is not getting carried away despite dominating all three days of pre-season testing at the new Portimao circuit.
The Sterilgarda Ducati rider topped the factory teams of Ducati, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Honda and BMW and put himself among the favourites to win the opening round of the series at Phillip Island in Australia on March 1.
Under the new format for the 2009 season, which was making its debut at Portimao, Byrne also won the 'virtual' superpole award.
