Bristow crowned SuperEnduro champion!

Emma Bristow took her second SuperEnduro world cup victory when the women´s season final was held in Helsinki, Finland.

The second and last event of 2015 women´s SuperEnduro world cup was organized in Helsinki, Finland almost a month after the previous round held in Germany. At the season final it was again Emma Bristow who controlled the heats and seemed to take the title with the maximum points but after winning the first heat she fell in the second one and Spanish Sandra Gomez crossed the finish line first taking her first ever heat victory.

Bristow was extremely happy after taking the 2015 title. "I knew the pressure was on me to take the title again. I did a lot more training for this season than I did last time. I was hoping it´s going to go my way but anything can happen like we saw at the second round. The clock goes really fast when you are behind. But I am really happy now", Bristow said right after the final.

Also Spanish Sandra Gomez, who took second position in 2015 world cup, was really pleased after the final.

"I am feeling really happy after taking my first victory but I am super exhausted as well. I couldn´t practice after the Germany because I broke my ankle, so this was very difficult to win today but now I feel great", Gomez rejoiced.

Briton Jane Daniels took the third position in world cup, Sanna Karkkainen from Finland was fourth, Maria Franke from Germany was fifth and Lexi Pechout from Canada sixth.

SuperEnduro Promoter Alain Blanchard was pleased with how well the top women raced in the Finland. "First of all congratulations to the ladies, they showed lot of character, will and power. They were really brave because SuperEnfuro is so hard and technical. We might not have the quantity but we had the quality and that´s more important", he said.

Also the director of FIM women in motorcycling commission Nita Korhonen was on the same lines with Blanchard.

"We are just developing the women´s SuperEnduro so there is long way to go. However we saw today in Finland that the level is surprisingly good at the top level. There was no need for modifications of the track as the women managed to race on exactly the same track as men. We are already talking about the next season with Alain", she said.
