Birchall Brothers Win German GP


With skies gray but dry, and a temperature of 26 degrees, the lights went out and it was Tim Reeves and Gregory Cluze, Haith/Padgett’s Honda LCR who got the whole shot into the first corner followed by Kurt hock and Enrico Becker, Hock Racing LCR Suzuki, Robert Zimmerman and Maik Ziegel, Team Zimmerman LCR Suzuki had a great start slotting into 3rd with the Birchall Brothers Ben and Tom, Mitchall’s of Mansfield LCR Yamaha right with them. Pekka Paivarinta and Adolf Hanni, Team Suzuki Finland LCR had a bad start with 5th and Mike Roscher with Danny Kamerbeek, RSC-Kopack Racing LCR BMW right with them. As the race settled down Reeves and Cluze started to make space between themselves and second place Hock and Becker, the Birchall brothers and Paivarinta and Hanni managed to get passed Zimmermann and Ziegel to give chase on the leading pair of sidecars. Adam Treasure and Andy Wolfram Treasure Racing LCR Suzuki went out and could not get going to rejoin as did Uwe Gurck and Manuel Eckert, Racing Team Gurc LCR Suzuki. Craig Chaplow and Patrick Farrance, Able Systems/CTR LCR Suzuki pulled into the pits to retire with cooling problems. Johan Reuterholt and Aki Aalto, Reuterholt Motorsport ART Suzuki who had a great Qualifying retired with gear change problems. Stefan Kiser and Sandro Micheletto, Team Kiser LCR Suzuki retired with sidecar wheel arch damage. Barry James and Jamie Winn, Santander Salt LCR Suzuki retired with 5 laps to go. Philippe Gallerne and Alexandre Schreiber, Gallerne 6 Avenue RCN Suzuki also Retired. As the Chequered flag came out it was the Birchall Brothers who took the win from Paivarinta and Hanni by 7.572 with Hock and Becker third. Reeves and Cluze crossed the line in 4th followed by Roscher and Kamerbeek in 5th. Josef Moser and Daniel Evenson, Racing-Team-Tirol LCR Suzuki finished 6th just in front of Zimmermann and Ziegel 7th. Michael Grabmuller and Axel Kolsch, Grabmuller LCR Kawasaki 8th and 1 lap down. Bennie Streuer and Kees Endeveld, Team Streuer LCR Suzuki finished 9th with Milan Spendal and Peter Hill, AMD Kranj Lcr Suzuki 10th.
