Bewley leads British one-two in classic Cardiff Speedway GP

British star Dan Bewley raced to his second FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Great Britain – Cardiff victory as Robert Lambert completed an historic British one-two at Principality Stadium on Saturday.

Bewley secured his second FIM Speedway GP victory in Cardiff in three years, thrilling the home crowd and increasing his perfect final win record to an impressive four from four.

With this latest triumph and an additional 20 points, the Brit moves up to seventh place in the Speedway GP World Championship standings with a total of 73 points to keep his SGP medal hopes alive.

Lambert claimed the runner-up position, earning him a much-needed 18 points to storm from fifth to second place in the championship standings – only 21 behind current leader, Bartosz Zmarzlik of Poland with four rounds to race.

The British one-two comes just over a month after Bewley and Lambert joined forces to win their second FIM Speedway of Nations world team title in three years at Manchester’s National Speedway Stadium on July 13.

Sweden’s Fredrik Lindgren took third place and 16 points, moving him within only two points of Lambert in the standings, as he sits in third position.
