Battle of the Fort about to begin

Located approximately one hundred miles north of Glasgow, the loch side town of  Fort William - Scotland is ready to host the sixth round of the 2011 SPEA FIM Trial World Championship.

Nestling in the shadow of Ben Nevis, Great Britain's tallest mountain, the Nevis Range venue has been transformed into a bustling hive of activity acting as the main parc ferme and trade area. With the first eight sections situated close to the paddock and seven of these  hazards being located in the nearby stream, spectator viewing is easily accessed.

From here the riders will climb further up the mountain to four stream-based sections, which make up the Red Bull zone. Challenges nine, ten, eleven and twelve have been aptly named Red Bull – Rage, Ravine, Revenge and Falls. As the names suggest this quartet of hazards promises to be some of the most challenging parts of the course.

Whilst the riders battle their way through the technical hazards, spectators will be carried up to the highest point of the Trial, twelve hundred meters above sea level, via the gondola. The final two man-made tests are positioned back at the paddock, at the foot of Fort William’s famous downhill mountain bike course. Uncharacteristically good weather has graced the Highland venue during the past few days, however with warnings of rain on the way, the riders will have to be on their guard as bad weather could make conditions slightly more difficult.
