PSG-1 Kawasaki rider Matteo Baiocco believes his privateer outfit will be much stronger in the FIM World Superbike Championship this season than their performance at Phillip Island last weekend suggested.
PSG-1 arrived in Australia with very little testing time under their belt and suffered a very poor race day with Baiocco managing a best result of 24th place from the two races.
Baiocco was the team's lone representative on race day after Ayrton Badovini suffered a crash in free practice that ended his weekend, and the team are targeting the third round of the season in Valencia to bring a marked improvement in results.
"We still have lots of work to do and I think we'll be able to make the first good results for Valencia round," said Baiocco.
"We are not scared about these first results as this round was a test for us.
"We collected lots of important information during this weekend which is a step forward as we prepare for the next round in Qatar."
