In winning the FIM Junior World Trophy team competition at the ninetieth running of the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) in Slovakia, Daniel Sanders - KTM, Broc Grabham - Sherco, Tye Simmonds - KTM and Tom Mason - KTM lifted the title last won by an Australian team twenty years ago.
“It’s been an amazing week for the team, to win the Junior Trophy competition is awesome.” Enthused Sanders at the end of the sixth and final day of competition. “We ended up fifteen minutes ahead of our nearest rivals, which shows just how good a week we had. It’s been a tough race, but we’ve all dug deep and got the result we worked hard for.”
As the best placed Enduro 3 class rider in the event Daniel Sanders set the bar high for the Aussie squad. Competing alongside Sanders, Tom Mason finished twentieth in Enduro 3. Placing tenth in the Enduro 2 class Tye Simmonds also produced a hugely impressive result while Broc Grabham finished thirty-fourth in Enduro 2.
Thanks in part to the their Junior World Trophy team Australia were awarded the Watling Trophy for the most improved nation in this 2015 ISDE.
