Excitement is mounting in Wroclaw as the build up to the FIM Speedway World Games in the city’s Olympic Stadium continues. The stadium hosting the meeting, was originally constructed as a standby venue for the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin but has recently been completely renovated for the World Games and will house a capacity crowd on Saturday evening.
Maciej Janowski fresh from his success at the British Grand Prix in Cardiff last weekend will captain the home team looking to add another gold medal to the Speedway World Cup they won last month in Leszno. A popular choice as the Speedway Ambassador to the World Games, ‘Magic’ also leads the local Sparta Wroclaw team in Poland’s Extraleague so his local knowledge will be put to good use.
Late changes include the addition of Lukas Fienhage as Reserve for the German team and the Great Britain Team Manager Alun Rossiter brings in Danny King to replace skipper Craig Cook who has had to withdraw due to a back injury.
There has been some rain in the Wroclaw region this week but the weather forecast for Saturday is good and some great racing is in prospect. <link http: www.fim-live.com en library download no_cache external-link-new-window external link in new>FINAL ENTRY LIST HERE
