With only six points separating joint leaders in the championship Tim Reeves and Ashley Hawes, Pekka Paivarinta and Adolf Hanni with second equal Ben and Tom Birchall, Jorg Steinhausen and Gregory Cluze, the FIM Sidecar World Championship moves to the 3.667 km (2.28mi) fast but technical circuit of Oschersleben in the North of Germany.
Once again there will be a two race format, a 15 lap race on Saturday, and a 21 lap race on Sunday.
Reeves and Hawes will be looking for better luck here, after winning one race in Schleiz, then being forced out of race two for a DNF, as too will be Paivarinta and Hanni, they went off track but managed to continue in race one at Schleiz, but won a great race in the second. The Birchall Brothers Ben and Tom had 2 third places last time out but they had to change an engine, this left them a bit down on power due to their second best engine. Steinhausen and Cluze had one second place last time, but are consistent in their results, this has resulted in them being second equal with the Birchall Brothers in the championship.
Sitting fifth in the Championship is Markus Schlosser and Thomas Hofer, they are not too far off the leaders in the championship, they will be hoping for a good meeting.
The Championship is so close it is anyone’s for the having. All teams will be hoping for a good weekend.
