The 2016 Conference of the FIM Commissions took place this weekend in Geneva bringing together more than 200 members of the FIM Family.
The annual gathering of FIM Commissions is one of the most important occasions for the members of the FIM Board of Directors, the members of the FIM Commissions and the FIM Administration to meet and exchange views and information. The main topic this year was the FIM Strategic Plan and its key themes: Sport, Beyond Sport and being a Modern & Socially Responsible Organisation. The Plenary Meeting yesterday morning was followed by a visit to the FIM’s brand new headquarters in Mies. The various FIM Commissions met in the afternoon and on Sunday to review the latest season and discuss the challenges they face, improvements that need to be made and targets for the coming season and beyond. A number of seminars and Board Committee meetings were also held in the days preceding the Plenary Session.
Messrs Roland Berger (CTI), Lincoln Perez Moscoso (CCR), Isoyo Sugimoto (CCR), Gonçalo Morais-Sarmento (CMI), Santiago Puig Viladomiu (CJI), Reinhard Kraenzler (CMI), Jan-Eric Sällqvist (CMS), Christian Bouin (CCP), David McManus (CMI), Duarte Forjaz (CAP), Martin Syrucek (CMI), Niels Hansen (CTL), Ms Clotilde Galy (CJI), Messrs John Chatterton Ross (CAP), Rezso Bulcsu (CCR) and Tony Skillington (CMS) were warmly thanked for their dedication to the FIM over more than 20 years and received a diploma and a token of the FIM’s appreciation at the Plenary Meeting. Other volunteers were also recognised for their valuable services to the FIM.
FIM Chief Executive Officer Ignacio Verneda noted with satisfaction that the Conference had gone well: “The Conference of the FIM Commissions is the annual opportunity to meet with all the members of the FIM Commissions and reinforce harmonisation efforts and team work. We also take advantage of this gathering to thank and reward the volunteers for their valuable dedication to the FIM. The Conference of the FIM Commissions this year was also a chance for us to show the new FIM headquarters to the FIM Family.”
