As every year, World Environment Day (WED) will be celebrated throughout the world on 5 June. This year’s theme – “Raise your voice, not the sea level” – aims to raise awareness of the urgency of helping to protect islands in the face of growing risks and vulnerabilities, particularly as a result of climate change. - See more at: www.unep.org/wed/about/
Your support and participation in this day is of the utmost importance and will show the world our commitment and our concerted will to develop and promote sustainable sport that takes into account environmental issues.
Concerning sustainable projects carried out by the FIM, our International Environment Commission (CIE) is currently working with promoters, organisers, teams and riders to continue the development of the KiSS programme started last year. Actions will take place this year at MotoGP, Trial and Enduro events with the support of the FIM Environmental Ambassadors.
In addition, the FIM would like to underline the continuous work of its National Federations and Continental Unions to reduce the environmental footprint of its events and to raise awareness amongst the riders, teams, spectators and moto-clubs.
We invite you to send us a short report/pictures/press releases about your actions in order to help us promote your various initiatives in the next issue of the FIM Environment Newsletter (address to be used: alex.goldenberg@fim.ch).
