La FIM et BSI Speedway ont annoncé aujourd'hui que le Motor Lublin Speedway Grand Prix de Pologne remplacera Varsovie pour la cinquième manche de Championnat, le samedi 7 août.
Le Grand Prix FIM de Speedway de Pologne 2021 à Varsovie a été annulé cette année en raison des mesures proses pour lutter contre la pandémie de Covid-19.
Ce sera la première fois que le Motor Lublin Speedway organisera un Grand Prix de Speedway, après avoir accueilli avec succès la finale du Monster Energy FIM Speedway of Nations 2020 sur sa piste permanente l'année dernière.
Jorge Viegas, président de la FIM, a déclaré : "La FIM ne peut que remercier le Club de Lublin, la PZM et notre promoteur. Nous allons continuer à travailler avec tous nos partenaires afin d'avoir le meilleur Championnat du Monde FIM de Speedway possible."
Jakub Kępa, président du Motor Lublin Speedway, a commenté : "En tant que président du Motor Lublin Speedway et citoyen de Lublin, je me sens à la fois privilégié et honoré de pouvoir inviter le monde entier dans ma ville natale. Le Speedway est un événement de premier ordre et je ne pouvais pas imaginer une meilleure occasion de prouver que le cœur de Lublin bat pour cette discipllne. Je suis sûr que chacun recevra un accueil chaleureux et se souviendra de cette atmosphère unique."
L'événement sera ouvert aux fans, et la FIM et BSI Speedway travaillent avec le club et les autorités locales pour s'assurer que le Grand Prix FIM Speedway de Pologne Lublin 2021 soit organisé conformément aux réglementations locales en matière de santé et de sécurité au moment de l'événement en août. The FIM and BSI Speedway today announced Poland’s Motor Lublin Speedway will replace Warsaw as host venue for Round 5 of the 2021 FIM Speedway Grand Prix on Saturday 7 August.
The 2021 Warsaw FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland was cancelled earlier this year due to the impacts of and uncertainty surrounding Covid-19.
This will mark the first time Motor Lublin Speedway has staged a Speedway Grand Prix Round, having successfully hosted the rescheduled 2020 Monster Energy FIM Speedway of Nations Final at its permanent track last year. The club previously staged the Polish Second Division until 2017, before back-to-back promotions saw them join the PGE Ekstraliga for the first time in 2019.
Jorge Viegas, FIM President, said: "The FIM can only thank Club Lublin, PZM and our promoter for finding a credible replacement at the SGP in Warsaw. We will continue to work with all our partners in order to have the best FIM Speedway World Championship."

Speedway Grand Prix is an event of the highest rank and I couldn't imagine a better occasion to prove that Lublin's heart is set for speedway. Paul Bellamy, SVP and Managing Director of Motorsports Events at IMG, which operates the FIM Speedway Grand Prix, added: “We’re delighted to be bringing a Speedway Grand Prix event to Lublin, one of the sport’s fastest-growing clubs, for the first time. With its permanent track, Motor Lublin Speedway has already proved to be a fantastic partner, stepping up to stage our Monster Energy Speedway of Nations Final last year after the pandemic altered our plans.”
The event will be open to fans, and the FIM and BSI Speedway are working with the club and local authorities to ensure the 2021 Lublin FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland is staged in accordance with local health and safety regulations at the time of the event in August. Ticket information will be released in due course.
