FIM Ride Green Eco Enduro 2009: The race that changes the future of motorcycling!

"This is a historic moment and you have all opened a new page in the history of motorcycling,” said Anders Minken, member of the FIM Alternative Energy Working Group at the gala dinner.

Indeed, after three days of intensive race on different types of soil, in the opinion of all present riders is that the electric bike is now the future of off-road disciplines.
Absence of pollution, noise, a light, agile and fun motorbike with enough power to amuse you while riding, that was the analyse of riders like as Joël Smet, five times motocross world champion, Fabien Planet, winner of the enduro race, Pal Ullevalseter or even Pedro Bianchi Prata, Paolo Gonçalves, Matteo Graziani, Annie Seel...

Despite a shock treatment, no mechanical case was to regret for the Quantya bikes nor the single Zero Motorcycle of Tommy Heimberg from Switzerland, who received a special 'fair play' prize for having the courage to come to fight alone with an American motorcycle against a great... Swiss motorcycle!

"I trusted this project to Quantya" entrusts Ivan Reedtz-Thott “and the international riders who have agreed to meet the challenge have confirmed me that I was right. They did the rest by showing the world that we could adapt to climate problems without abandoning our passion and satisfaction!”

Today, riders have rolled of Super Bike special in Svanemøllens Kaserne, not far from Copenhagen´s downtown. Stefan Olsen won this last day, before Joël Smet and Mikkel Caprani.

All actors in this extraordinary event felt a great relief after the race: the motorcycle has yet beautiful days before it... with an electric engine!
