Dear Trialist friend, dear Vintage Trial Rider,

To mark the third edition of the FIM Trial Vintage Trophy competition, the FIM is organising an exceptional celebration of the sport that will take place on Catalan soil in the north west of Spain at Ripoll – the Mecca of Trial – on Friday 13 September and Saturday 14 September.

Running alongside the final round of the 2024 Hertz FIM Trial World Championship, the Master of Ceremony for the event will be Finland’s legendary three-time FIM Trial World Champion Yrjo Vesterinen.

With celebrations taking place to mark fifty years of the FIM Trial World Championship and twenty-five years of the FIM Women’s Trial World Championship, numerous former World Champions – who between them have written large parts of the sport’s illustrious history – will attend and there will be exhibitions of World Championship-winning motorcycles and historic photographs as well as plenty of opportunities to socialise over food and drinks.

The event will once again include two adapted lines. The Blue line will be for competitors in the 2024 FIM Trial Vintage Trophy – open to all period-correct twin-shock machines – as well as for competitors in the FIM Trial Vintage Motorcycle Trophy, reserved for twin-shock machines of unmodified origins (see regulations).

The Green ‘support’ line will offer easier routes and, as it is outside the classification of the FIM Trial Vintage Trophy, will be rewarded by the Ripoll Moto Club.

The event will be run under ‘non-stop’ rules with scores over both days combined to decide the final positions. Results will be moderated according to a rider’s age.
