Round four of the FIM Sidecar World Championship heads to Germany

Round four of the FIM Sidecar World Championship heads to Germany, in the heart of Saxony.  To the 3.700km, undulating circuit, and runs in a anticlockwise direction, of Sachsenring.  Once again being held alongside Moto GP a large crowed will be present, and with its party atmosphere it’s a great event for all the teams.

Last time out at Assen, the Birchall Brothers Ben and Tom got their championship assault back on track with a convincing win from lights out to chequered flag, and were overjoyed with their win, which took them to fourth in the championship table, pretty good considering they missed out on two races in Croatia.

New team in the championship and sitting third in the championship is Scott Lawrie and James Neave who had a great second place in Croatia, and a steady fourth last time out in Assen.  They will be hoping to get a good result here and increase their points tally and get them closer to the two leading teams and keep the fourth place team at bay.

With only five points splitting the two teams heading the championship, this is going to be a hard fought race, as leading the championship on eighty six points is Pekka Paivarinta and Adolf Hanni, they will be hoping for a win and keep second place Jorg Steinhausen and Ashley Hawes off the top spot, who are sitting with eighty one points.  But Steinhausen will be going for an all out win at his home GP, and get the very knowledgeable crowed cheering for them.

In past years, races have been won and lost here, with tyres being the major factor, if the weather is hot, and with a 22 lap race on Sunday it’s going to be a great race for the championship.
